Te Kaupapa Montessori
We offer specialised Montessori activities and equipment that both interest and challenge our Tamariki/children to become independent, self-managing learners who are respectful of others and themselves. Purposeful learning, freedom with limitations and responsibilities, and boundaries of respect are each a part of our rich Montessori curriculum.

At Little Steps Montessori Preschool, we offer our children an opportunity to learn from one another promoting respect for self, each other and the environment. In a learner- centered environment such as ours the teacher is a guide who can learn and grow along the tamariki / children.
Embracing both the Montessori philosophy and principles of Te Whāriki, we create a welcoming, calm, caring and respectful learning environment where all tamariki/children are valued, and a passion for lifelong learning is nurtured.
The learning environment is a crucial component of Montessori implementation. It is deliberately designed to support tamariki / children's independent learning and promote positive choices.
